Mission impossible for Grandpa Guus

It looks like Chelsea are going to appoint another 62 year old national team coach with a liking towards attacking flavor of football as a stop gap arrangement. For me, its a wrong wrong move. Explain to me how a Dutchman, who is coach of national team of Russia, and who is by no means a fluent English speaker, come in for last few months and inspire a team full of people who either know English or know only Portuguese!! Its just not logical. It looks like a Mission Impossible to me. And considering the squad that he is going to inherit, a squad full of players who might be in their early 30s but are playing like they are in their early 40s, I very much doubt his success.

If it was up to me then I would have seriously thought about some one like Alan Curbishly for the stop gap arrangement. The guy knows English Football inside out, won't have any problems communicating to majority of the squad and would surely bring some discipline in the squad. He could have been the ideal candidate for the stop gap arrangement. But it looks like we are yet again going for a "big name" instead of an "effective name".

If this trend continues then we are soon going to turn into a Real Madrid, only without the glorious history and without Robben.

Stop gap arrangement!! I thought Roman was trying to hire Haddink for a long time. Infact, I read, Roman had a chat with him (he refused the job) before he appointed Scolari.
Personally, I feel its a good appointment. I would have loved to see Rijkard in EPL.
One needs to be patient. Managers take time to settle.
Not every manager is as dynamic, dominating, effective as Jose.

And signing Sheva and Ballack
(and, ummm, Deco) were stupid acts. They were never Chelsea kind of players.

Guus Hiddink till the end of the season looks like a decent decision. We have to admit that Scolari had to go. All these stupid journalist, ManUTD/Arsenal fans doesn't know the current situation with Chelsea. They are giving credit to Scolari based on his previous achievment, which is mostly at internation level. Scolari made some horrible horrible decisions in his Chelsea career. He had to go before our current season (& next season for that matter) gets destroyed completely. With the temporary arrangement, Chelsea board gets enough time to decide who takes over in summer & I'm praying to god that they will make a good decision this time around.

All this talk about Chelsea's bad decision of sacking 4 managers in 5 years in total BS. The only bad sacking decision they've ever made is to let Mourinho go & that's the mistake they're gonna pay for years to come. Sacking Cludio tinkerman was a strightforward decision. Grant had no authority on team & even if he would have won Champions League, he had to be sacked. Scolari seemed good choice but the way he managed the team justifies his sacking.

So I say sack Kenyon for making stupid decision of appointing managers (& Robinho transfer stupidity). sack Arsenan for pathetic youth development. Get a good guy with keen eye on youth to run the academy. Get get a young dynamic manager to run the team. Guus Hiddink till the end of the season looks like a decent decision.
